ALTERA FINANCE organized a signing of two cooperation agreements during the Donetsk Summit

“The Third International Investment Summit DID-2010 has confirmed the status of the Ukrainian investment platform. A direct proof of this is a signing of a cooperation agreement between the VEB-Capital” Investment Company and Donetsk Regional State Administration. A signing of an agreement between Donetsk Regional State authorities and the State Agency of Ukraine for Investment and Development about the activation of state policy in the sphere of investment development has become a step forward to the investment increase to the region Mikhail Zhernov, Head of the Board of ALTERA FINANCE IG and the regular convener and a partner of the Annual international investment Summit stated.

The second day of the Summit, which took place on the 30th of September in Donetsk, was dedicated to the consideration of Ukraine’s investment prospects. ALTERA FINANCE Investment Group took part as the initiator, organizer and moderator of the discussion.

Investments – where are they? the participants of the three sections of the second day of the Summit tried to find answers to this and other similar questions. While discussing the subject of investment attraction of Ukraine for the Asian region, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine H.E. Mr. Park Ro-Byug stressed, that Ukraine has to compete for the investment from all over the world. That is why now the state has to intensify its investment policy stated the Head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Investment and Development Mr. Alexander Taran.

Major foreign investors, representing Cargill and Knauf companies discussed advantages and disadvantages of working on Ukrainian market. They stated that the main drawback of cooperation with Ukraine is not the corruption or the imperfection of laws, but rather disobedience to law and business rules changing.

The Summit participant discussed the financial tools which were used and will be used for mobilization of investment during the second meeting. A lively debate began after the speech of Valeria Gontareva, the Chairman of the Board of directors of Investment capital Ukraine, who delivered herself on her view about work with such debt instruments as corporate and VAT bonds and eurobonds.

The third section was dedicated to the discussion of a private Ukrainian investor potential. The head of Securities and Stock Market state Commission Dmitriy Tevelev opened the debate, having underlined that it was the first time when Ukrainian authorities, namely President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and the Senior Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev take measures for support of development of Ukrainian stock market.

Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrainian Association of Investment Business Sergey Klenin, in his turn, underlined, that the institutions of Ukrainian stock market grow to qualitative state from the quantitative one.

The Third Annual International Investment Summit took place in Donetsk on the 29thand 30th of September of 2010.

There were more than 1500 participants of the Summit from 16 countries.

Summarizing the outcomes of the event, the Managing Director of ALTERA FINANCE Investment Group Tatyana Gryshyna stated that the main purpose of the project, the creation of a ground for a dialogue between state authorities, scientists, domestic and foreign business, has been achieved.
